Job Description
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a world renowned organization dedicated to the progressive control and cure of cancer through programs of patient care, research, and education.

You will oversee career and professional development services for all MSKCC employees, with an emphasis on our postdoctoral researchers. Your interpersonal skills will be invaluable as you assist these individuals in furthering their careers. Your responsibilities will include individual career coaching, developing sample resumes/CVs, cover letters, and thank you notes, providing guidance on interview and networking skills, sourcing job opportunities from corporations, government agencies and non-profit organizations, and coordinating career fairs.


Requirements
Critical to your success will be your knowledge of academic and non-academic career paths within the biomedical sciences and your ability to cultivate relationships with key individuals in these industries. Also important will be your ability to work with a culturally-diverse population. Excellent project management skills and your ability to set priorities among several projects are also key.

MA, MBA or PhD with at least five years of experience in career counseling and/or professional development services in a biomedical research environment or related field. Ability to use PC for word processing, spreadsheet presentation, data management and graphic applications is also essential, as is a strong familiarity with the internet and other resources for data gathering, research, professional networking and benchmarking. Experience with postdoctoral research community preferred. Hours: 9:00AM-5:00PM, Monday thru Friday.
