Job Description
Position Purpose: The IRA Trainer is responsible for assessing marketplace needs for IRA compliance, operational and product training and for designing, developing and conducting compliant and educationally sound IRA training programs and products that meet both internal and external credit union needs. This position works closely with IRA compliance and legal resources to ensure that IRA training programs comply with federal and state IRA regulations, maintaining a professional image at all times. This position is also responsible for the development of new training specialists and for providing technical and operational assistance to the Customer Response Team during tax season.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assesses marketplace needs for IRA training. Continually monitors, collects and analyzes data from surveys, focus groups, evaluations, customer feedback, error analysis, etc. Consults with IRA Services managers, Compliance Analysts and staff to determine training needs for internal staff, IT and associates. With Customer Response Team Leaders, reviews Compliance Support Specialists response to credit union inquiries for the purposes of evaluation, coaching and assessing training needs. • Designs and develops IRA training programs and products. Identifies appropriate instructional methodologies and delivery methods to meet identified needs. Develops new training programs including curriculum and development of training materials, learning activities and supporting A/V needs. Continually evaluates and makes recommendations for improving existing training programs. Coaches other Training Services team members, assisting them in developing compliant and educationally sound training programs. Consults with IRA compliance, legal, and operational staff to ensure that training programs accurately represent IRA regulations and Ascensus processes. • Delivers IRA training. Utilizing available resources, maintains a high degree of technical and compliance expertise. Develops and conducts IRA Services training for new employees and provides ongoing internal IRA training to Ascensus staff. Delivers IRA training covering complex legal and taxation issues for credit union and leagues in a professional manner, capitalizing on cross-selling opportunities, while managing expenses to budget. Models effective presentation skills and sound educational practices while coaching Training Specialists to assist in developing and improving these skills. • Provides high-level compliance training and consultation. Facilitates training component related to credit union conversions and consults with credit unions on additional training needs. Conducts high-level internal and external compliance training. This position may be asked to conduct fee-based assessments for credit unions to determine their compliance with federal regulations related to IRA processes and procedures, while making recommendations to credit union management for improving compliance performance. • Provides customer support through the IRA Hotline. When necessary, provides technical and operational assistance to answer inquiries from credit unions during the IRA tax season by maintaining operational expertise, determining customer needs, analyzing situations, explaining federal and state regulations, and recommending appropriate actions to assure compliance. • Drives own professional development. Participates in internal and external learning opportunities, professional reading, mentoring, etc. to grow as a training professional, placing special emphasis on cross-functional meetings with other Ascensus training professionals. Requirements
Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor s Degree in Education, preferably in Adult Education; Business or Communications; or equivalent trade-off in related work experience • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience training adults in a technical or regulatory field with demonstrated excellence in presentation skills. Professional certification is highly desirable. • Minimum of 3 years experience in developing adult training programs, preferably in a technical or regulatory field. • Demonstrated knowledge of training design and development, instructional methodology and adult learning theory through previous assignments/projects • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment and to provide coaching and direction to others. • Demonstrated integrity while working with customers, vendors, leagues and co-workers in the field. • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to work independently and to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Requires skills in analyzing data, making recommendations, communicating and problem resolution. • Strong verbal and written communication skills including excellent customer service skills. • Familiarity with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and other Windows-based programs • Demonstrated product knowledge, including expertise in IRA compliance and the credit union system • Demonstrated interest in professional development • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25-30% annually
